
Clarinet Note Studio is the go-to website for tools to advance and assist clarinetists in their journey towards improving and appreciating all of the capabilities of the clarinet. The founder and creative director of CNS is Julianna Evans, a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, where she received a Bachelor of Music degree, magna cum laude in 1997. She earned a Master of Music degree in 1999 from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. She has also participated in the Cincinnati Chamber Arts Festival and the Aspen Music Festival. Additionally, she was a semi-finalist in the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. From 2000 to 2022, Ms. Evans served as a member of the United States Air Force Band in Washington, D.C. and was appointed Assistant-Principal Clarinetist with the Concert Band in 2011. Currently she is a member of the Northern Neck Orchestra and is a freelance musician and private clarinet instructor in the Washington, D.C. metro area.
As a member of the Music Teachers National Association, she is a sought after clinician and teacher in the Northern Virginia area. With over 20 years of teaching and performing experience, Ms. Evans is committed and dedicated to advancing music education and appreciation to students of all ages. Her students frequently place in All-Virginia Band, the American Youth Philharmonic, The Capital Symphony Youth Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra Fellowship Program, the Curtis Institute of Music Summer Festival, NYO, NYO2, YoungArts and have earned the YoungArts U.S. Presidential Scholars in the Arts Award. Additionally, her students have been admitted to the New England Conservatory, Vanderbilt University, Stanford University, and The Juilliard School. Ms. Evans’s former teachers include Ken Lee, Dr. Charles West, Ted Oien, Dan Silver and Ronald deKant.
